These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and StarsEdge ("StarsEdge", "we", "us" or "our") governing your purchase and use of Clarity, our macOS desktop application, together with our website at getclarity.poker and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, purchasing or using Clarity, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The software

Clarity is a macOS desktop application that imports and analyses your poker hand histories locally on your Mac. It parses hand histories (including from supported sites such as PokerStars and GG Poker), tracks cash-game and tournament sessions, provides statistics and a hand replayer, and can optionally use AI features to analyse selected hands (see Section 4).

Clarity currently supports macOS only. Feature availability may change as the software develops.

2. Licence

Lifetime licence (the tracker). When you purchase a lifetime licence, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to install and use Clarity on Macs that you own or control, for your own personal use, for the lifetime of the product. "Lifetime" means the supported operational life of the Clarity product, not the lifetime of the purchaser; it does not guarantee that the software, any specific feature, or any third-party integration will be available indefinitely.

The lifetime licence covers the local tracker and analysis features. It does not include the AI analysis features described in Section 4, which are a separately paid service.

What the licence does not permit. You may not: resell, rent, lease, sublicense or redistribute Clarity or your licence key; share your licence key with others; reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law; remove or alter any proprietary notices; or use the software to build a competing product.

Ownership. Clarity, the Site and all related intellectual property are and remain owned by StarsEdge. These Terms grant you a licence to use the software, not any ownership of it.

3. Purchases, pricing and refunds

Price. The Clarity lifetime licence is currently offered at a one-time price of US$129.99. Prices may change for future purchases; a change will not affect a licence you have already bought. Payments are handled by Stripe, and by purchasing you also agree to their terms.

Refunds. If you are an EU/UK consumer buying digital content by download, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days. By downloading and using Clarity within that period you may lose the automatic right to cancel; regardless, we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee — if Clarity doesn't work for you, email support@starsedge.app within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. Refunds may not apply to used AI credits or a partially used subscription period, except where required by law. See also our refund policy.

4. AI analysis features (separate paid service)

Clarity offers optional AI-powered study features that provide deeper analysis of selected hands.

• Separate from the lifetime licence. AI features are not included in the lifetime licence and are not free. They are provided as a separate paid service — for example, a subscription and/or a usage-based (credit) plan. Applicable pricing and billing terms are shown to you before you subscribe or buy credits.
• Additional charges apply. Using AI features incurs charges beyond your one-time licence purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically for successive periods until cancelled; you can cancel at any time via Stripe or by contacting support@starsedge.app, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Credit-based purchases are consumed as you use them.
• How they work. When you run an AI study, Clarity sends a small selection of significant hands to our secure API layer (hosted on Cloudflare) and on to Anthropic's Claude models for analysis, and returns the results to your device. This is described in our Privacy Policy.
• Nature of AI output. AI analysis is generated automatically and is provided for study and educational purposes only. It may contain errors or omissions, may not reflect optimal strategy, and must not be relied on as a guarantee of results. You are responsible for your own decisions and play.
• Availability. AI features depend on third-party providers and may be changed, limited or discontinued. If we discontinue a paid AI plan, we will handle any prepaid amounts fairly and in line with consumer law.

5. Your responsibilities and acceptable use

You agree that you will:

• use Clarity only where it is legal for you to do so, and comply with the terms of service of any poker site whose hand histories you import (some sites restrict the use of third-party tracking software or HUDs — it is your responsibility to check and comply);
• be solely responsible for your own conduct, gambling decisions and any consequences of them;
• not use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent or abusive purpose, or to infringe anyone's rights; and
• keep your licence key confidential.

Clarity is an analysis tool. It does not enable real-time assistance during play beyond the features provided, and we make no representation that its use complies with the rules of any particular poker operator.

6. Availability, updates and support

We aim to keep Clarity working and may release updates, bug fixes and new features from time to time. We may also modify or discontinue features. We provide support on a reasonable-efforts basis via support@starsedge.app. The Site and any online components (including the AI API layer) may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance or factors beyond our control.

7. Third-party services and content

Clarity works with data from third-party poker sites and relies on third-party providers (including Cloudflare, Anthropic, Stripe, and Vercel). We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or changes they make that affect Clarity (for example, a poker site changing its hand history format).

8. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that analysis or statistics it produces will be accurate or lead to any particular outcome. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights you have as a consumer under UK law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

Subject to that, to the fullest extent permitted by law:

• we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for any loss of profits, gambling losses, data loss, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or in connection with the Service; and
• our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service and these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to us for Clarity and related services in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US$50.

You are responsible for keeping your own backups of important data. While Clarity stores your data locally, we are not liable for loss of hand history data on your device.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Clarity at any time. We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these Terms (for example, by sharing or misusing licence keys or using the Service unlawfully). On termination, the licence granted to you ends and you must stop using the software; data stored locally on your device remains yours.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date and applies to your continued use of the Service. Material changes to paid services will be communicated where appropriate.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and nothing here deprives you of mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
